Product announcements
June 15th, 2008: The external, RC radio integrated head tracker has been replaced with an internal headset head tracker. The headset now directly controls the camera pan/tilt via an independent 433Mhz link. This increases the product durability and simplicity of use (and no wire connecting the head tracker to the RC radio).
March 11th, 2009: New, rugged compact packaging has been introduced for easier and safer shipping.
------------------------------------------------------
Fat Shark's FPV (First Person View) technology literally puts you behind the wheel of this high performance 4WD RC car. A completely wireless headset immerses your vision and audio senses from data transmitted from the onboard camera and microphones mounted inside the RC car model driver's helmet. The realism is heighten by motion sensors inside the headset that control the camera pan/tilt mechanism. The camera looks where you look resulting in an interactive perspective from onboard the RC car.
The FPV RC Racer can be equipped with either a QVGA or VGA display. The QVGA version is a crisp, full color OLED display with 320 X 240 pixel resolution. The VGA headset has 4 times the pixel resolution and 4 times the screen size as compared to the QGVA.
Aside from the display, both VGA and QVGA systems are identically equipped with a 2.4Ghz CE certified 10mW transmitter, high resolution 420 TVL camera, 3ch RC radio, pan tilt camera mount, camera transmitter and high performance 4WD RC racer. The system comes smartly packed in a hard shell carrying case.
So simple to use, just put the goggles on your head, turn on the headset, turn on the car and drive.
Flip the switch on the RC controller to remotely turn on/off headlights for night time driving or dark areas that need exploring.
When not tearing up the track, the transmitter can be removed from the RC car and attached to any AV source to wirelessly watch movies or play home gaming systems. Or use the included AV cables to connect the headset to a portable media player.
